It was supposed to be the perfect start to their married life. A long, romantic camping trip in the mountains, just the two of them and their beloved dogs. But what began as a dream honeymoon quickly became a waking nightmare, filled with unsettling encounters and a growing sense of dread.
Their plan was simple: twenty days immersed in nature, far from the everyday hustle. They were experienced campers, comfortable with the wilderness. They arrived, set up their site, and settled in, expecting nothing more than peaceful days and starry nights.
The First Unsettling Appearance
Just a few days into their trip, a stranger made her presence known. The couple was relaxing at their campsite when she suddenly appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. Her first words, directed at their dogs, were, "Can I pet your dog?"
Even the dogs, usually friendly, reacted with alarm. The writer politely declined, and the woman simply stood at the edge of their campsite, not speaking, not moving, just… existing. She wasn't staring, but her stillness was unnerving. When asked if she needed anything, she said no and eventually walked away.
She headed towards a nearby campsite, one already occupied by two young women. To the couple's surprise, this new woman began setting up her own small tent right next to the existing one, even though the original occupants were nowhere to be seen. It was the first sign that this encounter was more than just a random, awkward meeting.
A Disturbing Morning Display
The next morning, while walking to the camp showers, the writer passed the woman's campsite. He saw her inside her tent, reading with the flap open. He continued on his way.
Upon returning from his shower, he noticed her tent was now zipped shut, but it was jiggling. As he approached, she unzipped the tent, revealing herself completely nude. She stretched languidly, a bizarre, almost primal display clearly meant for him to see.
He continued to his own campsite, recounting the strange event to his wife. They laughed it off, trying to dismiss it as an oddity. But the seed of unease had been planted. They decided to shake off the strangeness and head out for a planned hike to a nearby waterfall.
The Hike That Turned Sinister
The trailhead was accessible from their campground, so they started their walk, dogs in tow. After a few minutes, enjoying the mountain air and taking photos, the woman reappeared, emerging from the trail ahead of them. At first, they thought it was a coincidence, as it was a common trail.
But then she saw them. She stopped dead in her tracks, resuming that unnerving, motionless stance. The writer’s wife looked where he was pointing, a flicker of unease crossing her face. "I think we have a stalker!" the writer said, the thought solidifying.
They continued their hike, picking up the pace. The woman followed, maintaining a consistent distance behind them. Their younger dog kept turning back to watch her, sensing something was off. Annoyed, the writer decided to stop for water, hoping she would pass.
Instead, she stopped too, just standing there, mirroring their pause. This was no longer a coincidence. The writer's concern grew, his mind racing with possibilities. The situation felt like something out of a suspense movie.
Cutting the Hike Short
Deciding to cut their hike short, the couple took a shorter loop trail back towards their campsite. They jogged at every turn, trying to lose her. For a while, it seemed to work. They didn't see her again until later that night.
As the evening wore on, the writer’s wife went for a shower. When she returned, she shared a startling piece of information. The woman they suspected was stalking them was also at the camp showers, but this time, she was with two other young women. These were the same women who had originally set up the tent at the woman's campsite.
